About Kathy
I am Kathy De Paep, beautician and skin expert since 2010.
Every day I work with people, stories and questions about the skin. I often hear the same thing in the salon.
If that sounds familiar and you are mainly looking for clarity, time and honest explanation, you are in the right place. Glow by Kathy is about facials, home products that suit your skin and guidance you actually benefit from. Sometimes that is a single treatment. Sometimes it is a programme where we travel together for a while.
What I do
At Glow by Kathy the focus is on facials, skin programmes and honest skin guidance.
You can come to me for a single facial, but I always look at what your skin needs in the longer term. Your skin needs time and repetition to really change. I take you through that step by step.
In the salon I work with extensive facials and tailored Green Peel treatments. We look together at what your skin needs. Not only at what you see in the mirror now, but also at what is going on underneath and what is feasible in your daily life.
For many clients that starts with an introductory treatment with skin analysis. In that appointment:
- I calmly look at your skin in the salon.
- I listen to what you have already tried and what you want to achieve.
- We make a plan that suits your skin and what you can keep up at home.
The products I use in the salon are also in the webshop. Brands such as Dr. med. Christine Schrammek and Nimue I use every day with my clients. I know their formulas and how they work in practice. That is why I can guide you step by step, in the salon and at home.
Sometimes that means fewer products instead of more. Sometimes it means patience, because skin needs time to recover. And sometimes it means I tell you honestly what is and is not feasible. Better that than promises I cannot keep.
How a first appointment goes
A first appointment is allowed to be calm.
First I take the time to listen. You tell me about your skin, what bothers you, what you have already tried and where you get stuck. Everything can be put on the table, even if you feel you are using “a bit of everything”.
Then I look at your skin in the salon and treat what I see. Along the way I explain what I am doing and why. You lie down, I work and you can relax. You do not need to remember which step is what. That is my job.
At the end we agree on what you do at home. Usually less than you think. I write it down for you, so you do not go home with loose fragments. If something is not needed, I say so.

My path
In 2010 I took my first steps in the profession, as an employee. A year later I became self-employed and joined a business as a partner. I learned a lot there over the years. Above all that I am at my best when I can give time and attention to the people I treat, without watching the clock all day.
Over time I noticed that the way of working no longer matched how I wanted to practise my profession. It went too fast, I was overstimulated too often and I missed the real connection with the people I treated.
In the summer of 2024 I started again, on my own. With less stock, but with a clear choice about how I wanted to do it. Calmer, more personal and more tailored. With the support of my close family I was able to build my own place in a short time.
My schedule filled up faster than I expected. People booked online without ever having seen me. The webshop grew along, with clients who ordered several times before I saw them in person.
That confirmed to me that I am on the right track with how I work now. I do not push anything. I explain, I think along and I leave the choice to you. I deliberately choose to see fewer people per day, so there is time for your skin and your story.
Why calm and personal attention
I am an emotional person. In my own life I have cared a lot and also had to let go a lot. That taught me where my limits are and how important it is to take good care of yourself, even when a lot is going on.
I bring that into my work. I remember your story, not just your skin type. I do not judge what you have used so far. And I deliberately keep the pace calm, so every appointment gets the time and space it deserves.
At home on the farm
From 15 September 2026 you will find Glow by Kathy at the farm in Melsele. The place where I grew up, where my horse is and where my family has always been. To me that feels like coming home.
At the farm the salon does not get bigger or fancier. It becomes even more what it has always been. A calm place where you can simply be yourself and where we look at your skin together. Close to nature and still easy to reach from Beveren and Melsele.
